60-Day Progress Guarantee
1. What the guarantee covers
The 60-Day Progress Guarantee applies to the transformation package..
It covers agreed training goals relating to [for example: lead reactivity, barking, lunging, calm walking, or settling], as recorded in the client’s initial assessment and training plan.
The guarantee does not promise that a dog will become completely non-reactive, perfectly obedient, or free from all behaviour challenges. It covers meaningful progress towards the agreed goals.
2. What counts as meaningful progress
Meaningful progress means an observable improvement in one or more agreed areas, such as:
- Reduced frequency or intensity of barking, lunging, pulling, or other reactions.
- A greater ability to notice and respond to the handler.
- Improved recovery after becoming stressed or excited.
- The ability to work at a closer distance from a known trigger, where appropriate.
- More reliable use of an agreed alternative behaviour.
- Improved ability to settle in agreed situations.
Progress will be assessed against the starting point recorded during the initial assessment. Because every dog and situation is different, the specific measures will be agreed before training begins.
3. The 60-day period
The 60-day period begins on [the date of the first training session / the date the training plan is issued].
The guarantee applies only to progress within that 60-day period. If a session is postponed because of illness, unsafe weather, or another circumstance agreed in advance, the period may be extended by the length of the agreed delay.
4. Client responsibilities
To qualify for the guarantee, the client must:
- Attend all sessions included in the programme, unless a rearrangement is agreed in advance.
- Follow the personalised training plan consistently and in accordance with the guidance provided.
- Complete the agreed exercises between sessions.
- Keep Cardiff K9 Training updated about progress, difficulties, and any significant changes.
- Provide requested videos, training logs, or other progress information.
- Follow all safety and management instructions.
- Not cancel sessions and not reschedule outside a 2 week window.
- Tell Cardiff K9 Training promptly if the dog’s behaviour changes significantly or presents a new safety concern.
The guarantee is not dependent on perfection. The purpose of these requirements is to ensure that the agreed plan has been given a fair and consistent opportunity to work.
5. Review before a refund
If the client believes meaningful progress has not been made, they must contact Cardiff K9 Training within [7 or 14] days of the end of the 60-day period.
Cardiff K9 Training will then review:
- The initial assessment
- The agreed training goals
- Attendance and participation
- The training completed between sessions
- Any videos, records, or progress measures
- Changes in the dog’s health, environment, routine, or circumstances
Where appropriate, Cardiff K9 Training may offer a reasonable opportunity to review or adjust the training plan before deciding whether the guarantee applies.
6. Refund process
If Cardiff K9 Training determines that the client has followed the agreed plan and that meaningful progress has not been achieved, the client will receive a refund of [the programme fee / the eligible portion of the programme fee].
The refund will be made to the original payment method within [14] days of the decision.
Any separately purchased services, travel charges, equipment, third-party costs, or sessions outside the eligible programme are excluded unless expressly stated otherwise.
7. Situations outside the guarantee
The guarantee does not apply where progress is materially affected by:
- Failure to follow the agreed training or safety plan.
- Repeated missed sessions or failure to complete agreed practice.
- A significant change in the dog’s health, medication, environment, household, or routine.
- A new behaviour problem that was not included in the original assessment.
- A veterinary, medical, clinical, or welfare issue requiring another professional.
- A serious safety issue that means the agreed programme cannot continue.
- Deliberately inaccurate or incomplete information about the dog’s history or behaviour.
- Circumstances outside the reasonable control of Cardiff K9 Training.
This section should not be written so broadly that it makes the guarantee meaningless. The exclusions should reflect genuine practical limitations rather than create a loophole for every possible outcome.
8. Veterinary and specialist support
Training is not a substitute for veterinary or clinical behaviour advice.
If a dog’s behaviour may be linked to pain, illness, medication, severe anxiety, or a significant safety risk, Cardiff K9 Training may recommend veterinary assessment or referral to an appropriately qualified professional. The guarantee cannot apply where recommended professional support has not been obtained and this prevents the training plan from being carried out safely.
